Backed by generations of knowledge, Robert is the sixth generation of his family to work in the forestry industry. His career began on the coalface with his own logging crew, giving him the hands-on experience many clients value in a forestry partner.
After spotting a gap in the market, Robert recognised that clients wanted to deal directly with people who had real, practical forestry experience. A day trip to the port to meet potential buyers of his freshly obtained block of timber led to the creation of Logs Direct.
Today, we cover the entire lower North Island, selling to all local mills and exporting through all ports. Handling in excess of 10,000 tonnes per month, we’ve found this to be the perfect size to ensure strong market reach while keeping client satisfaction at the top of the list.
From seedling to mill, we proudly service every stage of the forestry cycle: establishment and planting, silviculture, ETS work, harvesting, and marketing. Our focus is always on client satisfaction and maximising returns, achieved through innovative thinking and proven, hands-on experience.
